Welcome to my Web Site!
I am the author of three mystery series. The five (so far) books in the Camilla MacPhee mysteries feature feisty Ottawa sleuth Camilla MacPhee, her unique office assistant, Alvin Ferguson, and her interfering family of Cape Bretoners. The new man in Camilla's life, Sgt. Ray Deveau, lives in works in Sydney, N.S. On the other hand, Camilla runs the advocacy agency Justice for Victims in the nation's capital, when not sleuthing irritably the region. A sixth book, Law and Disorder, is now available. Things get complicated when Ray's daughters visit for the Dragon Boat Races while Camilla decides it's no joke that lawyers are being killed. Alvin has his work cut out for him staging Camilla's house. Of course, whose fault is that?
Forty-five minutes north of Ottawa, in the fictionalized village of St. Aubaine, Quebec you might run into my second character, Fiona Silk, a failed romance writer with no sex life, most recently attempting to write an erotic cookbook (as if). Too Hot to Handle, the second in the series, came out in November 2007 and is still going strong, maybe because there are recipes included, maybe because of the cover. I love the cover image which was based on a painting by Victoria Maffini.
The Charlotte Adams adventures take place in New York State, about two hours north of NYC, and feature a thirtyish professional organizer, reconnecting with her friends and getting her life and business together in a community in the Hudson Valley. Of course, she is slightly distracted as the bodies pile up. The third Charlotte mystery Death Loves a Messy Desk will hit the shelves in May 2009. No extra charge for the organizing tips, which you are free to use or ignore.

Two more Charlotte Adams books are scheduled: 2010 and 2011. I am hard at work on Closet Confidential and starting the ponder the next one. Daisy and Lily are helping me and have new spring outfits to keep the mood up. Both Organize Your Corpses and The Cluttered Corpse came out in Large Print versions which pleases me immensely.
Toronto-based Thump Entertainment has optioned the Camilla MacPhee characters. Plans are underway to have Camilla and some of the gang for a television series. We still have our fingers crossed that Camilla and Alvin and Mrs. Parnell will grace the small screen.
The latest Ladies' Killing Circle anthology Going Out With A Bang arrived in Fall 2008. It's a terrific anthology - don't miss it. In more good news, Little Boy Blues (Camilla MacPhee #3) and The Dead Don't Get Out Much (Camilla MacPhee #5 are back in print! And I am very excited that Lily actually passed her Therapy Dog Evaluation (see right).
Finally, I'm tickled to be the Master of Ceremonies at Bloody Words 2009 when Canada's mystery conference comes back to Ottawa this June. Check it out in my events section.
